Begin Strong on Day 1 of Distance Learning

Returning to school, even school at home, after an extended break can be difficult.  Here are some suggestions for getting your child back into study mode!

●Help your child set short-term goals for learning each day.  Use a prompt such as: “My goal for today is to ____.”

●Set a timer for focused work time.

●Break long tasks into smaller parts.  Complete one part at a time.

●Schedule brain breaks and physical exercise into the day.

________________________________________________________

Hello, parents and students!
It is with a very heavy heart that I write to you today.  The news from the governor, closing all schools for the academic year, is heartbreaking.  It is hard to believe that we won't get a chance to finish what we started, but please know, that we can get through this TOGETHER!

Prince William County has posted an outstanding new PWCS Home Learning Page for you to access.  You may visit the page for optional home learning. Also, we are eagerly awaiting more news from the Virginia Department of Education as well as the superintendent here in Prince William County about how to proceed from here. I will provide updates as I hear them.

Please tell your children that I think about them every day.  I wish we could all be together laughing and learning, but we'll see each other again.

Always remember...I believe in you!

I miss you all very much,
