In class, students are working on Raz-Kids and Reading A-Z (Language Arts) and IXL (Math). Please have your child to work on these activities at home. If you need your child's login information, please email me. I also encourage every student to read 20 minutes a day. 


June 8-12

Learning Activities

 

Language Arts (All Grades):

Make a list of fruits that are red. It’s Okay if you don’t spell the word correctly, just write the sounds you hear. Draw pictures to match.

Sight Words (All Grades):

Choose three sight words, write each word three times and with each sight word write a complete sentence.

Reading (All Grades):

Read for at least 20 minutes each day.

Use books you have at home or these websites below:

Complete activities on IXL for 20 minutes each day.

Science (All Grades):

Log on to brainpopjr.com and watch a science video of your choice, take the quiz and explore with the games and activities.

 

Social Studies (All Grades):

Log on to brainpopjr.com and watch a social study video of your choice, take the quiz and explore with the games and activities.

Social Skills (All Grades):

Lego Challenge: foster creativity and build with PURPOSE!

Monday: You are elected ruler. Build a flag for your land.

Tuesday: Aliens are invading, and you need to build a war robot to defeat them.

Wednesday: The aliens have taken over. They are impressed by your robot. They want you to build one for them.

Thursday: You are hired to build a house entirely out of yellow legos.

Friday: There is a blizzard. You will need to build a snowmobile.

This week’s extra activity: Think of the show and share item that you will bring to our End of the Year Celebration and come ready to go out with a “BANG.”

Read a book with a stuffed animal. Draw a picture of the setting (The setting is where the story takes place).

Sight Words (All Grades):

Write each word on two index cards. Turn them over and play a memory matching game with an adult. 

Reading (All Grades):

Read for at least 20 minutes each day.

Draw a picture and solve. Write an addition sentence that looks like ____ + ____ = ____

I have 4 reds pens and 3 blue pens. How many pens do I have in all?

Social Studies (All Grades):

Monday: You are hired to build a brand new hospital. 

Tuesday: The fence is broken and the dog keeps escaping. Build one he can’t get out of. 

Wednesday: You are now in medieval times. You are commissioned to build a jousting arena. 

Thursday: The local bank keeps getting robbed. Build a safe no one can crack. 

Friday: Design and build your dream bedroom.

This week’s extra activity: Enjoy family time with a puzzle or two.

Learning Activities

 

Language Arts (All Grades): 

Take a picture walk and look at the pictures before reading. Discuss what you think will happen based on the pictures.

 

Sight Words (All Grades):

Write each sight word with a pencil. Trace over each sight word with 6 different colored crayons to create a rainbow.

 

Reading (All Grades):

Read for at least 20 minutes each day.

Math (All Grades):

Pour a small amount of cereal in a bowl. Count out 20 pieces. Put them back in the bowl and do it again. 

 

Science (All Grades):

Social Studies (All Grades):

Log on to brainpopjr.com and watch a social study video of your choice, take the quiz and explore with the games and activities.

 

Social Skills (All Grades):

Monday: Help your fellow pioneers build a wagon to make it across the country.

Tuesday: Build the fastest car around and join the big car race. 

Wednesday: Do you wanna build a snowman? Get in the winter mood and build a snow scene.

Thursday: The city wants you to build a bridge to connect one side of the town to the other.

Friday: Pizza party! It is up to you to make a pizza for all the guests.

 

This week’s extra activity: Help a family member with a chore.
